Sources Profile images¶

The source profile image is convolved with the PSF in the code.

Usage¶

The source profiles can be define with images in one or several fits files (the format will be describe in the following).
When the source profile images are used, the input catalog must contains an additional column which refer to the number of the HDU of the image in the fits file.
• MODIMG (int) : image index in the thumbnail file

If the source profile images are in a single file, you can load it with the constructor of the object Observation:

obs = tips.Observation("Input_cat.fits", "Input_spc.fits",inThmDir="Input_thm.fits" )


If the source profile images are in several files, the input catalog must contains an additional column which refer to the file name (as for spectra in several files.
• IMGFILE (string) : path to the file containing the stamp images

The object Observation must be load as following:

obs = tips.Observation("Input_cat.fits", "Input_spc.fits",inThmForm='SplitFits' )


Format¶

The stamp images are in one or several fits files.
Each fits files can contain different images in several extensions.

• SMPFAC (float) : the sampling factor
If SMPFAC is define in the image header (and positive), the image will be resample at the detector scale.
• PIXSCL (float) : the pixel scale of the stamp image in arcsec
If PIXSCL is define in the image header (and positive), the image will be resample at the detector scale.

Note 1:
DETSCL = pixel scale one the detector
SMPFAC = DETSCL / PIXSCL

Note 2:
If both SMPFAC and PIXSCL are define, only SMPFAC is taking into account.

Point like source could be define with a negative value of MODIMG (empty) in the input catalog.
