Agenda for IGM Discussion Circle Meeting: 7th September 2016 {#agenda_for_igm_discussion_circle_meeting_7th_september_2016}¶
__Following changes in the structure of the IGM circle were agreed
upon: __
__1. A wiki page (which all members can edit) to list
papers/results/plots which the members find interesting and want to be
discussed during the meetings will be created. This pool of topics will
be used to fill the agenda of our meetings. It is generally expected
that the person suggesting a topic will be willing to lead the
corresponding discussion. This, however, is not a requirement. As
always, members interested in sharing their own results (even a plot) or
willing to run through a practice-talk (before a conference, for
example) are welcome to come forward. __
__2. Short talks (informal, of course and typically 10 minutes long)
from members providing general introduction to/summary of their
research. This is voluntary, but all circle members are strongly
encouraged to come forward. We are planning to have one such talk, on
average, per meeting. __
__3. We will stick to our bi-weekly schedule (meeting once every two
weeks) but the current slot (Wednesdays, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm) does not
work for some GECO members interested in participating. We will review
this time slot to try to accommodate the maximum number of participants
possible. A doodle poll will be created shortly to sort this out. __
